The curators of the Keyframe exhibition asked me to create an artwork for the topic “Creative Blackout — New Impressions“.

“Blackout Bloom” is a piece of art visualizing the loop that occurs when trying to break free from a creative blackout. When stuck in a creative blackout, we search constantly for new inspiration. Every potential idea is tried and tested. Every sense is sharpened. When the seed of an idea is found, it is nurtured, grown, and takes shape. The blooming is a relief; it allows us to breathe again. Often, though, we realize that we haven’t yet found what we’ve been looking for. And so we find ourselves back at the start of the “blackout bloom”.
